The Pink Door Tea House in Glendale, Arizona
I had been a frequent patron of this particular tea house when it was Kimberly Ann's Tea Room. The food was ok and the proprietor was a nasty lady. The vibes and energy were all off. I loved the decor however. I took my daughter every year for her birthday and other occasions as we saw fit.
I moved out of state over 5 years ago and apparently since then they have changed hands. (The fifth anniversary of the re-branding as The Pink Door was at the end of March.) I was back in the state and a dear friend and I made reservations. The decor appeared mostly the same but that is where things changed dramatically. We were greeted by Anthony and his knowledge of all things tea was shocking for a young man. He was classy and on top of our every need. When I asked about the name change he advised that ownership had changed and his Mom was a chef at the Tea House now.
What came next was course after course of pure delight. The tea and tea selection: extensive. The food: delectable. The service: impeccable. Several other young men and women were helping us and as it turns out, they are all related in some way to the chef. They all worked in perfect tandem to deliver a guest experience that was to die for. I cannot fully explain what a great time I had but I HIGHLY recommend this establishment and I will be back whenever I come back to visit Arizona.
So, a heartfelt thank you to Chef Monica, Anthony, Veronica, Michael, and everyone else whose names I was unable to obtain. The owner is Lupe and I have not yet met her but kudos to her for turning this charming little house into a must do tea house experience.
I had the pleasure of coming back when I was in Arizona for a Mom’s Club Reunion and as promised, I will always stop at this tea house whenever I am in town. I had the pleasure of experiencing their Mother's Day tea and could not have been more pleased. The food quality was phenomenal as always. But even better than that was the very attentive service that was received. There was a nice young man on the porch handing out carnations to all the Moms upon entering which was a very nice way to be greeted. It very much set the stage of honoring all Moms.
During the tea service, they raffled off a cute centerpiece and fun little pens. I was lucky enough to have won a pen. I ordered some loose leaf tea to go, as I usually do. They package it up fresh upon order. I love being able to experience a proper tea at home when I can.
There were many different men and women ensuring that all needs were met prior to needing them. This location does not believe in reactive serving. They anticipate in advance and proactive service leads to an amazing experience. Thank you to Michael, Veronica, and Anthony for yet another phenomenal teatime.
I decided to come back two days later right before heading to the airport to return home and was attended by Michael. It was near the end of their operating day and I was the only patron remaining. It was a very relaxed, calm vibe and per usual, the food was amazing. I bought some tea and scones to take back with me to Washington. Chef Monica knocks it out of the park, once again.
Whenever I am in Arizona, this charming tea house is on my must do list. Highly, highly recommend. If you are looking for elevated service with an elevated tea experience, this is absolutely your cup of tea.
